Our story:
With 11 children, you can imagine the financial challenges we have learned from. We used coupon-clipping and bulk purchasing everywhere we could. Our meal costs were down to pennies per mouth…yes, it is possible.
My children are now either in high school, college, or married and have children of their own. We buy and preserve food as a much larger family now. Last time we bought chicken, we processed and stored over 600 pounds of chicken as a family. We used canning, freezing, and freeze drying to store it all.
We are members of a few online freeze-drying communities. They have been invaluable in the learning process. But, I couldn’t find detailed answers to my question about the cost of running our freeze dryer. Others have asked the same question without a good answer, so I decided it was time accept the challenge.
